The Ryder Cup is a highlight of the sporting calendar. Every two years, 12 of the best European golfers face off against 12 players from the United States in a thrilling three-day tournament. This event, which pays tribute to its founder, Samuel Ryder, has gained popularity for its ability to generate drama and foster camaraderie among players.

The 2025 Ryder Cup will be held from September 26-28 at the Bethpage Black Course, located at Bethpage State Park in Farmingdale, New York.

Fans will be able to watch the 2025 Ryder Cup on NBC, the Golf Channel, and USA Network. The competition will also be available for streaming on Peacock.
Participating teams
The U.S. team will consist of 12 golfers, of which the top six eligible players in the Ryder Cup standings following the BMW Championship on August 17 automatically qualified. They are:

The European team also includes 12 players, of which the top six in Ryder Cup points after the Betfred British Masters on August 24 automatically qualified:

European captain Luke Donald chose six other members:

Ryder Cup Format
The tournament is held in a match-play format over three days. On the first two days, players compete in pairs in two formats: foursomes and four-balls. On the final day, 12 individual matches are played. In foursomes, players alternate shots, while in four-balls, each golfer plays their own ball. In total, 28 matches are played, each with one point at stake. In the event of a tie, each team receives half a point. The first team to reach more than 14 points wins.
Awards and compensation
It's important to note that the Ryder Cup does not offer prize money. Each player on the U.S. team receives $500,000 for participating, of which $300,000 is donated to charity. European players receive no compensation.
