In foursomes, players alternate shots, and the team with the lowest score wins the hole. In four-ball, each golfer plays their own ball, and the one with the lowest individual score wins the hole.

A total of 28 matches are played, each worth one point. In case of a tie, each team receives half a point. The first team to reach 14 points wins the tournament. In case of a 14-14 tie, the defending champion retains the trophy.

Awards and Compensation

Unlike other tournaments, the Ryder Cup does not offer prize money. Each player on the US team receives 1,450,000 TP for participating, of which 1,430,000 TP is donated to charity. European players receive no compensation.
