Summary
BELLEAIR, Fla. (AP) — Kai Trump, the granddaughter of former President Donald Trump, will deviate from her path to college golf at the University of Miami to make her LPGA debut next month. She received a sponsor's invitation Tuesday to participate in The Annika, held at Pelican Golf Club from November 13-16, an event that typically features one of the strongest courses of the year outside of the majors.
“My dream has always been to compete against the best in the world on the LPGA,” Trump said in a statement. “This event will be an incredible experience. I look forward to meeting and competing against many of my golf heroes and mentors as I make my LPGA debut.”
As the eldest daughter of Donald Trump Jr., Kai is a senior at The Benjamin School in Palm Beach County and has confirmed her commitment to play for the Miami Hurricanes next year. She participates in amateur events nationally with the American Junior Golf Association and locally in Florida. She is currently ranked 461st in the AJGA girls' rankings, having competed in three events this year.

In addition, she has over 6 million combined followers across four social media platforms and recently launched a clothing and lifestyle brand focused on empowering young women in sports.
“Sponsor invitations are an important way to highlight emerging talent and attract new attention to our tournaments and the LPGA,” said Ricki Lasky, LPGA Chief Business and Operations Officer. “Kai’s broad reach is helping to introduce golf to new audiences, especially among young people. We’re excited to see him take this next step in his career.”
The Annika has also announced that WNBA star Caitlin Clark will return to participate in the pro-am on November 12 for the second consecutive year. Nelly Korda is the defending champion.
