Key details
Before Saturday's final round of four-ball matches, the United States had already secured its place in the Group A semifinals, winning its first four matches. The tournament format features seven countries and one "rest of the world" team competing in two groups, with teams and their players determined by the women's world rankings.
The top two countries from each group advance to the semifinals and the final, which consists of a foursomes match (alternate shot) and two singles matches. Last week, Sei Young Kim won the BMW Ladies Championship, also in South Korea. The LPGA Asian Tour continues next week in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and concludes in Shiga, Japan, from November 6-9.
