Notes: This new tournament is the second in India on the European Tour and features five Ryder Cup players. McIlroy is playing in India for the first time, his first appearance since the Ryder Cup. Other European Ryder Cup members include Tommy Fleetwood, Shane Lowry, and Viktor Hovland. Ben Griffin is making his European Tour debut and is playing for the first time since his Ryder Cup debut. The field also includes former British Open champion Brian Harman and two-time Ryder Cup captain Luke Donald.
Eugenio Chacarra, who won the Hero Indian Open this year, is looking to sweep the tournaments in India. Michael Kim, winner of the French Open on the European Tour calendar, is also in attendance. Marco Penge leads the European Tour with three wins this year and is second behind McIlroy in the Race to Dubai.

Notes: This is the first of back-to-back tournaments in South Korea, with the International Crown next week. Thitikul became the LPGA's first multiple winner this season, though she is not competing this week, as she will be part of Team Thailand at the International Crown. Three of the four Americans in the International Crown are participating this week: Lauren Coughlin, Lilia Vu, and Yealimi Noh. The only player in the top 10 of the women's world rankings present is Miyu Yamashita, along with Minjee Lee and Hyo Joo Kim.
Thitikul holds a considerable lead in every major LPGA Tour award, including a 40-point lead over Minjee Lee for Player of the Year. Hannah Green won last year, her third victory of the 2024 season, becoming the first Australian since Karrie Webb to win three times in an LPGA season.

Notes: This tournament kicks off the three-event Charles Schwab Cup playoffs, beginning with the top 72 players. The top 54 after this week advance to the second event of the playoffs. Kirk Triplett finished 72nd, edging out Brandt Jobe by $201. Miguel Ángel Jiménez enters the Charles Schwab Cup playoffs with a $520,494 lead over Stewart Cink, the only player on the PGA Tour Champions to top $3 million in earnings this year.
Bernhard Langer has three tournaments remaining to extend his streak of having won at least once every season since becoming eligible in 2007. Fred Couples (No. 59) and Paul Broadhurst (No. 68) are the only eligible players not in the field. The SAS Championship was Alex Cejka's first 54-hole win; the other three were majors.
