The event will feature four of the top six players in the world, move from the California desert to South Florida and air on Prime Video instead of traditional television.
The Skins Game, scheduled for the Friday after Thanksgiving, will feature FedEx Cup champion and Ryder Cup star Tommy Fleetwood, along with U.S. team captain Keegan Bradley, Justin Thomas, and Xander Schauffele. The event will be held at Panther National, a new Florida course that opened two years ago and was designed by Thomas and Jack Nicklaus. Players Bradley, Schauffele, and Thomas all reside in the area.
This tournament, which began in 1983 with some of the greatest golfers, was last played in 2008, with KJ Choi as the winner. The new Skins Game will maintain a similar format: one player wins a certain amount of money for each hole, and if there's a tie, the amount is accumulated. The difference will be a "reverse prize pool," where the four players start with $1 million, and their winnings or losses fluctuate with each hole won or lost.
Key details
Coverage will begin at 9 a.m., coinciding with a major Black Friday for Prime Video, which will also stream an NFL game and an NBA doubleheader. This will be the second golf event for Prime, which announced last month that it would offer two additional hours of weekday coverage of the Masters.
