📌 Club Profile – Juan Bautista Segura Municipal Golf Course

Your course in the autonomous city: Golf in the Heart of Buenos Aires

What we now call the Juan Bautista Segura municipal golf course began with Thomas Watson (the first captain) and John Park (the first pro), which gave it shape. But in 1930, the legendary Allister Mackenzie He put his hand to it and gave it the design we know today.

Easy? Not at all!

It seems affordable, but it is a pure challenge:

  • Holes with "out of bounds" that make you sweat.
  • The treacherous lake on hole 5 (par 3) and on holes 11, 12 and 14.
  • The famous 7th hole (also par 3), where you have to send a shot super precise above a few giant eucalyptus treesDon't miss it!

From private club to public course (and in style)

In 1950, the Municipality took the land and turned it into the Juan Bautista Segura Municipal Golf CourseThe only public course in South America within a capital!

🧭 Route (Featured Holes)

Hole 1: A short par 4 that starts from an elevated tee and curves to the right (dogleg right). The tee shot demands accuracy, as there is water on the left and the terrain on the right is out of bounds.

Hole 2: A par 4 with a narrow fairway that shares the green with the 9th hole. Access to the green is complicated by a deceptive front and the presence of defensive bunkers.

Hole 6: A par 5 with a distinctive boomerang-shaped green, reminiscent of the famous ninth hole at Augusta National. The second shot is particularly challenging due to the trees on the left and the out-of-bounds area on the right.

Hole 7: An iconic par 3 that requires a highly precise shot through a dense grove of tall eucalyptus trees.

Hole 10: A par 3 with an elevated green offering panoramic views of the city skyline. Missing the green makes par considerably more difficult.

Hole 12: Par 4 where the tee shot is one of the most challenging on the course, as it is played from behind a lagoon and with a stream running along the right side of the fairway.

Hole 13: A short par 3, with a design inspired by the 13th hole at Merion. Although not particularly difficult, any miss avoiding the bunkers can result in a penalty stroke.

Hole 16: A par 5 with a sharp dogleg to the right and a narrow green accessed via a false front. It offers birdie opportunities, but also the risk of bogey if the game strategy is not correct.
